The victory in the Allonco – Altez – J.De Brabander – Bardoel – vd Heffinck – Verwaest Prize was for the Belgian rider Arnaud Doem.
36 combinations started in this first class for young horses, a two phases special over 1m20. In a two phases special, there are two phases, but riders with penalties in the first phase can still ride the second one.
The Belgian riders are in great shape here at Flanders Horse Event, as the performances in this class showed! Dirk Demeersman stayed in the lead for a while with Little Billy with a 26.53 sec. time, but Arnaud Doem managed to be even faster with Findlay du Moulin à Papier (Utah van Erpekom x Surcouf de Revel) and took the victory after a 24.94 sec. in the second phase. Arnaud received a 500€ voucher from the BWFA to spend at the foal auction this Saturday.
The second place went to Irish rider Shane O’Reilly and Belga du Tot (Mozart des Hayettes x Rosire) after a second phase in 25.44 seconds. Dirk Demeersman took the third place.
